Sample chart
Your chart, explained
A real chart calculated by VedicsAstro for a fictional birth: 1 January 2000, 6:00 AM, New Delhi.
Birth chart
Sample chart- Moon sign (Rashi)
- Libra
- Birth star (Nakshatra)
- Swati · pada 3
- Ascendant (Lagna)
- Scorpio
What this sample shows
- The Moon was in Libra at this birth. Vedic astrology reads mood and daily forecasts mainly from the Moon sign.
- Its nakshatra (birth star) is Swati. The nakshatra sets where the Dasha periods begin; this chart starts in the Rahu Mahadasha.
- The ascendant (Lagna) is Scorpio: the sign rising in the east at that time and place. It fixes the twelve houses, so it needs an accurate birth time.
Your own chart adds planet positions, houses, divisional charts, Dasha dates, yogas and doshas.
Panchang for
Today in your chosen city
General Panchang for a place and date. It is the same for everyone there and is not based on your birth chart.

How calculations and interpretations work
Astronomical calculation
Planet positions, the ascendant, sunrise and Panchang are computed from astronomical formulas. The same birth details always give the same result.
Interpretation
What a placement is said to mean comes from classical Jyotish texts and tradition. Read it as guidance for reflection, not as a scientific prediction.
Settings used for every chart:
- Sidereal zodiac
- Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa
- Whole-sign houses
- Mean Rahu and Ketu
- Vimshottari Dasha
How we check accuracy
- Sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa; whole-sign houses from the ascendant.
- Planet positions from our own astronomy engine, cross-checked against the Swiss Ephemeris to within 0.06° on our reference charts (1940–2030).
- Time zones from real boundaries, using the offset in force on the birth date — including India's 1942–45 war time and daylight saving elsewhere.
- Panchang elements are taken at true local sunrise; sunrise and sunset were checked against TimeAndDate.com for 28 cities.

Common questions
What if I don't know my exact birth time?
Choose "Approximate" or "I don't know" on the form. We check every possible time and show only the results that stay the same — usually the Moon sign, birth star and planet signs. The ascendant, houses and Dasha dates need a reasonably exact time, so we say so instead of guessing.
Do I need an account?
No. You can generate and read your full Kundli without signing up. An account is only needed to save charts and open them later, and for the dashboard and PDF reports.
What happens to my birth details?
The chart is calculated in your browser. Your birth details are not sent to us unless you save a chart to your account. While you type a birthplace, the text is sent to OpenStreetMap's place search to find matching towns.
How do I get a PDF report?
PDF reports are included with the Silver, Gold and Platinum plans (2, 5 or 10 a month) and are downloaded from your dashboard.
