About VedicsAstro
VedicsAstro is an independent Vedic astrology website from India, operated by Vinothkumar Mani. It is built for people who want to understand their own chart and the daily Panchang without guesswork: every number on the site is calculated, not copied from a table, and every page tries to explain what a result means as well as showing it.
How the calculations are checked
Planetary positions come from our own astronomy engine, written from published algorithms and checked against the Swiss Ephemeris; on our reference charts the largest difference is about 0.05 degrees. Sunrise and sunset are checked against TimeAndDate.com for 28 cities on six continents. Dashas, divisional charts, Shadbala, Ashtakavarga, yogas and doshas were compared line by line with a professional report for the same birth data. These checks are re-run whenever the calculation code changes, and the methodology page lists them.
How the articles are written
The Journal and the guides on each tool page are written by the VedicsAstro editorial team from the classical sources of Jyotish — Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Brihat Jataka, Phaladeepika, Saravali and the muhurta texts — and from standard modern references. Where traditions disagree, as they do on Mangal Dosha houses or on Kaal Sarp Dosha, the article says so rather than picking one silently. Facts that can be calculated, such as dasha lengths, transit dates and Rahu Kaal rules, are checked against the site’s own engine.
What we do not do
- We do not offer personal consultations at present; the readings on the site are generated from your chart by rule.
- Remedies on the site are traditional practices explained for understanding; none is presented as a guarantee.
- Astrology is not medical, legal or financial advice. Please consult a qualified professional for those decisions.
Corrections
If you find a calculation that disagrees with a trusted source, or an article that gets a classical rule wrong, please write to us through the contact page with the birth details or the passage concerned. We check every report and correct the site when we are wrong.
